The Journey: Art Exhibit and Competition

For our 40th anniversary and in response to the devastating impact of Covid-19 on the immigrant and arts communities International House presents, The Journey: Art Competition and Exhibit. We are inviting immigrant artists to submit an art piece that represents their journey to the United States, allowing the community to see their story and take a step in their shoes.

The Competition:

Ten artists have been chosen to participate in an exhibit hosted by Charlotte Art League (CAL) where the public will vote by donating to their favorite piece. Each piece of art will have its own QR code and link for donations, accessible online and at the CAL exhibit. At the end of the exhibit and competition, the winning artist will be chosen based on the amount of donations their artwork has received.

The winning artist of this exhibit and competition will be given a $4000 stipend and the opportunity to have their artwork showcased at International House.
